Theoretical physics aims to develop mathematical models that can quantitatively describe natural phenomena. This endeavour requires a deep understanding of the laws physics in different contexts: from the tiniest constituents of matter, to the largescale structure of the universe; from the study of complex systems, to the mathematical structure behind physical theories.
